You may want to create grade columns that contain items not automatically created by Blackboard (such as tests or assignments.) Blackboard 8 Grade Center allows you to create grade columns manually.

Follow these steps to create grade columns manually:

1. In the Control Panel area, under the Assessment area, click the Grade Center link.

2. Click the Add Grade Column button in the Action Bar.

4. The new grade column will become the very last column in your Grade Center. Use the scroll bar to scroll to the far right to view the column. (Click the Organize the Grade Center link here to learn how to reorder the columns).

5. You can click the Action Link button next to the column header and click the Column Information link.

You can also click on any cell of that column, and the information of the grade column will be displayed on the Grade Information Bar.

8. To enter grade manually, click on each cell and type a numeric grade, press the ENTER key after each entry.

9. After you have entered your grade, you can also view the details of your grade by clicking the Action Link button next to the cell to bring down the menu. Click the Grade Details link in the drop-down menu.

10. Click the LINK here to learn more about the Grade Detail page.
