Yes. A wiki is a tool which allows groups of people to collaborate on a web project. One of the largest and best examples of a wiki is "Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia".

You can use the "Wiki Tool" (also called Teams) to create one or several wikis within your course. A wiki for the entire class is available by default in the Tools area, or can be linked from the navigation menu; multiple wikis for individual or group projects can be added within any Blackboard content area. It is easy to add images, audio and video to the wiki.

Create a wiki linked from the navigation menu:

  1. Open the control panel
  2. Select manage course menu
  3. Add a Tool Link
  4. Select the tool Wiki Tool
  5. Next, enter the name you wish students to see on the navigation menu (i.e. "wiki", "class writing project")
  6. Click the Submit button

Create a wiki linked from a content area:

  1. Open the control panel
  2. Select the content area you wish to put the wiki in
  3. Find the Selecttool on the right side of the gray bar toward the top of your Blackboard window.
  4. Select the tool Wiki
  5. Click the go button
  6. A new page comes up, asking a number of questions about your site. Answer the questions as desired.
  7. Click the Submit button
