How do I create a TA for my course?

As a course instructor, you can enroll any Blackboard user into your course, and give them the privileges or "role" you wish them to have. Available roles are:

  • Student: User is able to access all available Course content and will be graded on Assessments.
  • Instructor: User is able to control all aspects of the course through the Control Panel.
  • Teacher’s Assistant: User is able to control most aspects of the course through the Control Panel.
  • Grader: User is able to access all areas under Assessments.
  • Course Builder: User is able to add content to the course through the Control Panel.
  • Guest: Guests are able to view areas of the course, but cannot participate in any way.

If the user is not already in the course, you may manually enroll them.

  1. Open the Control Panel
  2. Select Enroll User

Once someone is enrolled in your course, you can change their course role as desired.

  1. Open the Control Panel
  2. Select List/Modify Users
  3. Click into the user's Properties button.
  4. Select the desired role, as per the options described above.
  5. Press Submit.
