Organize Grade Center

Blackboard 8 provides many functions that allow you to customize the way Grade Center display information.

Follow these steps to Freeze/Unfreeze Columns, Hide/Show Columns and Move Columns:

1. In the Grade Center, click the Action Link button next to Manage in the Action Bar. Click the Organize Grade Center link.

2. The Organize Grade Center page will appear.

a. Click and hold down on any part of a row and drag and drop to move the column to a new location.

b. To show/hide columns:

i) Click to select the desired row(s) by clicking on the checkboxes before these rows.

ii) Click the Action Link button next to the Show/Hide in the Action Bar.

iii) Select Hide Selected Columns to make the column not visible in the Grade Center. Select the Show Selected Columns for hidden columns to show the columns. Remember, hidden columns will still be visible to your students unless you click the No button for Show this column in My Grades while you are modifying the column.

c. Move the row you want to freeze above the dark gray bar as shown below to freeze a grade column. Move the row below the dark gray bar to unfreeze the column.

ii. Click the Categorize Different Grade Items LINK learn how to modify the column categories.

3. Click the Submit button when done.

Notes:

· You can also hide the column by clicking the Action Link button next to the column that you want to hide in the Grade Center page. Click the Hide Column link.

Follow this step to Sort the Grade Center:

1. To rearrange the order of the rows (students) by the column head, click the arrow at the top of the column to toggle between ascending order (up arrow) and descending order (down arrow). For example, to display the students’ names by Last Name from A-Z (ascending order), click the arrow at the top of the Last Name column until it is an up arrow
