Improve classroom climate with these strategies.
- Set a tone of inquiry and collaboration, and promote inclusive communication.
- Offer RBG -- relevance, belonging, and growth mindset -- to all your students.
- Follow AEA Best Practices for Working with Students.
- Use think-pair-share in class and organize students into study groups for work outside of class.
- Add wait time after asking a question. (Do not call on the first hand to go up.) Give some questions in advance so that students have time to prepare responses.
- Provide values affirmation assignments and wise criticism.
