Myra H. Strober is Professor Emerita of Education and Economics at Stanford University.

She was the founding director of Stanford’s Center for Research on Women (now the Clayman Institute for Gender Research), one of the first two women faculty at Stanford’s Graduate School of Business, a member of the first American Economics Association Committee on the Status of Women in Economics, and President of the International Association for Feminist Economics (IAFFE).
Her research has focused on gender issues at work, balancing work and family, women in the professions and management, the economics of childcare, and feminist economics. She has written The Road Winds Uphill all the Way: Gender, Work, and Family in the United States and Japan (1999) and Challenging Habits of Thought: Conversations Across Disciplines (2010) as well as more than 100 professional articles.
She is currently at work on a memoir, Kicking in the Door.
She has a B.S. from Cornell University, an MA in economics from Tufts University and a Ph.D. in economics from MIT.
Professor Strober is married to Dr. Jay Jackman and has two children, three step-children, and five grandchildren.
