==Existing Keyboards==
Plattdüütsch traditionally uses the standard German or Dutch keyboards. The language uses different orthography in each region. Because of this we have looked at a way for speakers in the two regions to communicate based on the shared phonology of the language in both regions, and not the flawed orthography that limits in language communication across borders.

==New Keyboard==
We have chosen to make a phonetic keyboard based on the standard German keyboard as it has all relevant characters for both the German and Dutch based orthography. As well, we have chosen to add phonetic characters that the language uses.

* Here's a Phonetic transcription keyboard based on the german keyboard:
{{kbdrow1|{{kbdkey|^|°}} {{kbdkey|1|!}} {{kbdkey|2|"}} {{kbdkey|3|§}} {{kbdkey|4|$}} {{kbdkey|5|%}} {{kbdkey|6|&}} {{kbdkey|7|/}} {{kbdkey|8|(}} {{kbdkey|9|)}} {{kbdkey|0|= }} {{kbdkey|ß|?|ə}} {{kbdkey|´|`}} }}
{{kbdrow2|{{kbdkey|q|Q}} {{kbdkey|w|W}} {{kbdkey|e|E|ɛ}} {{kbdkey|r|R|ɐ}} {{kbdkey|t|T}} {{kbdkey|z|Z|ʑ}} {{kbdkey|u|U|ʊ}} {{kbdkey|I|I|ɪ}} {{kbdkey|o|O|ɔ}} {{kbdkey|p|P}} {{kbdkey|ü|Ü|ø}} {{kbdkey|+|*}} }}
{{kbdrow3|{{kbdkey|a|A|ɑ}} {{kbdkey|s|S|ʃ}} {{kbdkey|d|D}} {{kbdkey|f|F}} {{kbdkey|g|G}} {{kbdkey|h|H}} {{kbdkey|j|J}} {{kbdkey|k|K}} {{kbdkey|l|L|@}} {{kbdkey|ö|Ö|œ}} {{kbdkey|ä|Ä| }} }}
{{kbdrow4|{{kbdkey|<|>}}{{kbdkey|y|Y}} {{kbdkey|x|X}} {{kbdkey|c|C}} {{kbdkey|v|V}} {{kbdkey|b|B}} {{kbdkey|n|N|ŋ}} {{kbdkey|m|M}} {{kbdkey|,|;}} {{kbdkey|.|:|ː}} {{kbdkey|-|_}} }}

===Justification===
We chose to use a phonetic transcription for Plattdüütsch as spoken in Germany and the Netherlands based on the standard German Keyboard. This allows for speakers to use all relevant keys in both regions as the spelling changes in the Netherlands vs in Germany. Because it is phonetic speakers are also to write all dialouge in the language in IPA, this allows for communication with clarity regardless of which writing system a speaker has learned.
