Puyuma

  • Basic information:
    • Austronesian
    • ISO: pyu
    • Speaker population: 1,000
    • Spoken in Taitung County in Eastern Taiwan. Speakers are mostly bilingual in Mandarin Chinese and/or Min Chinese, and some also speak Japanese.
    • Status: 8a (Moribund)
    • Orthography: Latin script
  • Morphological typology:
  • Finding text: There are pedagogical resources by the Taiwan Council of Indigenous Peoples, such as materials for the indigenous language proficiency test and an online talking textbook, although they are Puyuma-Chinese.
