Pinyin keyboard

We implemented the Pinyin standard developed by the Wu Chinese Society in IBus. We keep the standard QWERTY keyboard layout, which is most familiar to Chinese users.

IPA transcription keyboard

Shanghainese has 20 consonant and 11 vowel phonemes, along with 3 (ish) tonemes. The phonemes and their allophones are:

[m], [n], [ɲ], [ŋ], [ˀm], [ˀn], [ˀɲ], [ˀŋ], [p], [pʰ], [b], [t], [tʰ], [d], [k], [kʰ], [g], [ts], [tsʰ], [tɕ], [tɕʰ], [dʑ], [f], [v], [s], [z], [ɕ], [ʑ], [l], [ˀl], [h], [ɦ], [ʔ], [m̩], [n̩], [ɲ̩], [ŋ̩], [ˀm̩], [ˀn̩], [z̩], [i], [u], [y], [a], [ɑ], [ɔ], [o], [ɤ], [e], [ø], [ɛ], [ə], [ã], [ɑ̃]

The following keyboard contains all the above IPA symbols, IPA tone and stress symbols, and the letters needed to type Shanghainese Pinyin (Wu Chinese Society version).

Justification

We took the standard English input method, since Chinese Pinyin uses it and most Shanghainese speakers would be familiar with it, and put in the extra IPA symbols while trying to change as little as possible and prioritizing efficient use (No need for AltGr).
