I was not able to find anything concrete about the morphological typology of Amami hōgen (other than talk pages on wikis arguing about the typologies of various hōgen as dialects vs. languages), but given that its close relative, Japanese, is an agglutinative language<ref>https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morphological_typology</ref>, it seems very reasonable to categorize Amami hōgen similarly.

I'm (obviously) interested in Japanese, but that's a language that already has robust computational support. I guess that's something I need to think about!
