Oneida is polysynthetic which means that words are comprised of many morphemes. In addition, Oneida has substantial noun incorporation.

[one] There are an estimated 1,000 native speakers of Oneida. Members of the Oneida tribe live in upstate New York, Wisconsin, and Ontario. The majority who speak Oneida use it as a secondary language.[1] Although there are very few speakers, its speakers' influence has led to the creation of numerous websites aimed at providing resources such as dictionaries, recordings, and lesson plans to people interested in learning or teaching the language. These video and audio recordings were collected in the early twentieth century.[2],
